Edvard Munch's House, is Åsgårdstrand's biggest attraction. It was here that Edvard Munch lived and found the inspiration for so many of his famous paintings. It was in 1889 that Edvard Munch (1863-1944) spent the first of many summers in Åsgårdstrand. In 1897 he bought a spartan fisherman's cottage built at the end of the 18th century.

Norske Løve is the name of a 19th century fortress built from 1852 to 1859 to protect Karljohansvern naval station in Horten in Norway. Its name is a reference to the Coat of Arms of Norway. The fort is still a military area.

The museum shows the colourful history of motor vehicles, and is located in the old Horten brewery.

On the outskirts of Horten you come to Karljohansvern, which is surrounded by the sea. Here you can enjoy life. This is a quiet place in an urban environment, with space to hike and bike in the most beautiful surroundings imaginable.

The Local Historical Centre consists of a museum, an archive collection of local history and a coffee shop called "Café Breda".

The centre offers exhibitions, guiding and a playground were children and adults can compete and play like Vikings. Midgard has a small souvenir shop and a charming café overlooking the magnificent park.

Preus Museum offers visitors many exciting experiences within the expanded field of photography: from the earliest technical and scientific experiments to modern photographic art that has pushed back the boundaries of what a photograph can be.

The museum was established in 1853 and lies on Karljohansvern in Horten. The museum has an exciting collection, which shows the development of the Royal Navy and its connection to Norwegian history.
